Why Public Company News Needs a Longer Life After the Wire

Acaari Research

SMARTCAST YOUR ISSUER DISCLOSURES

Every public company knows the feeling. You spend weeks preparing a release, it crosses the wire at 8 a.m., and by lunch it has been pushed down the page by hundreds of other announcements.

The wire did its job. Your news is public, compliant, and on the record. But being public isn't the same as being seen.

Who's actually out there

Individual investors are a big part of the market. The Federal Reserve's 2022 survey, cited in SIFMA's 2025 Capital Markets Fact Book, found that 58% of U.S. households own stocks. Investing has also moved into apps, and discovery now happens in the same feeds people use for everything else. Fewer people read the wire. More people scroll.

The gap in the middle

A wire service makes the news public. An IR firm or in-house team looks after existing shareholders, analysts, and brokers. What's often missing is putting the news in front of people who would care about it but don't watch the wire. That's the gap post-wire amplification fills.

What it looks like

You publish as usual. Then, over the following one to four weeks, that same disclosure is shown to people who follow your sector on platforms like Meta, YouTube, and Google. Every ad points back to the original release or your IR page. Nothing new is said. The news just gets a longer life.

What it isn't

It isn't a way to move your share price, and anyone promising that should make you nervous. It isn't a replacement for your wire service or your IR team either. It works alongside both.

Why now

Not because of a market call. Bull or bear, a disclosure nobody sees is a wasted disclosure. The tools to reach sector audiences properly already exist, and the compliance path is clearer when you only ever amplify what's already public.
